What do you get when a first home buyer has trouble looking for their first home? When I realised that looking for my first home what a time consuming process it involved, I thought there had to be a better way. With the introduction of Google Earth, there was no current way of finding what houses were for sale, and more importantly how much they cost in Australia.
So for several months I would manually add any new houses for sale, and mark them in Google Earth. After many months, and still trying to make that deposit larger I had to make it an easier process. So I created the web site: Suburb View
A basic description of Suburb View, is it's an Australian Real Estate Search Engine, where found results are displayed in Google Earth and also on the Google Map. The way it works is you search for a Suburb, and if the site doesn't have any results it will get them in less than 24hrs, and old results are updated after 5 days.
Once Suburb View Turned One, I had a year full of Old Real Estate Listings and still had not purchased my property. So I thought I wouldn’t be the only person who would like to view these old listings. So in November 2007 http://www.oldlistings.com.au was launched.
The Listings Price indicates what the Property was advertised for, and when it was no longer active on Suburb View. As some suburbs can have over 1000 listings, I was unable to display them on the Map like Suburb View, so I created a way where you click on the listing, and then the Map will appear with the marker.
If you find that this site is listing a property you don’t want shown, I am more than happy to remove it. Please let me know via the contact form and I will try to get onto it as quickly as possible.
I hope you get as much use out of my property sites as I do when searching for property. Any feedback or constructive criticism is always welcome. Contact
Thanks,
Mark
